Brijesh Krishnan, Waste Management & Environmental Leader; Cummins Inc.
Brijesh Krishnan is the Global Waste Management and Environmental Leader at Cummins Inc., where he leads the waste management programs and strategy development for Cummins global facilities and operations. He supports cross-functional, cross-business initiatives to accelerate actions, evaluate opportunities, and set and achieve goals. He engages internal and external stakeholders on waste management (or, as he says, resource management. Waste is indeed a misplaced Resource!). He also leads the environmental data and metrics management for the company.
Brijesh supported the creation of Cummins' first comprehensive global environmental sustainability plan and is currently supporting the development of Cummins 2050 sustainability plan to be announced during Cummins' 100th Anniversary in 2019. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Environmental Champion and Lead Auditor in ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001.
Brijesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Production Engineering and Master's degrees in Environmental Science and Public Affairs. He led the Environmental Data Management and Reporting for the company for 4 years before his current role. Prior to pursuing his masters, he has more than 5 years of experience in sales and marketing of industrial products, business development, and leading regional operations for multinational companies. The experience travelling through breadth of India and foreign country visits motivated him to become an environmental and sustainability professional. He started his environmental career a social entrepreneur of a grass root level waste management company in Thane, suburbs of Mumbai, India. Currently located in Columbus, Indiana, Brijesh is involved in community organizations and is an avid outdoorsman.
